W. LINCOLN PALMER

meet My older brother lincoln

Read further to hear my feelings on my older brother Lincoln.

My older brother Lincoln was born on July 18,1979. I of course was not there for his birth, but I am happy this event took place.  I have always felt a strong connection with Lincoln and I have only happy memories of him.  In fact, I can’t remember many arguments between us.  Rare for siblings I know, but possible. I have always felt that Lincoln and I are the most alike out of the kids.  This is most apparent in our physiques. But deeper than that, Lincoln has been an example to me my whole life.  I never remember Lincoln not working.  During the summers he would mow lawns for our Uncle Mont.  He started this at a very early age and continued into his late teens.  During the winter he would shovel sidewalks.  To this day, I attribute part of my work ethic to the example he set for me early on.  Lincoln has always been a deep thinking, quite man.  Whether it was shooting BB guns or playing with fireworks, he always let me hang around him and the boys without question.  As an example of this and his demeanor. .  .I was probably about 7 or 8.  As a family we headed to South Jordan one summer night for an impromptu family reunion to help clean up some of the palmer’s property.  I remember there was a huge bonfire made out of scrap wood and dead trees.  As usual, I was following Linc everywhere.  He and Robbie were playing with the fire.  They were lighting the end of sticks on fire and running around with them. .. Lighting other things on fire. . ect, you know, the normal kid stuff.   I proceeded to copy them as I was known to do.  I can’t remember from this point exactly what happened, but I remember something upset me.  I think Lincoln said something and I took it out of context, or he was ignoring me.  So I took my stick that was on fire and I stuck it right on his forearm.  It was so brutal of me. I will never forget how Lincoln reacted.  It was classic “Lincoln”.  He didn’t cry . .(even though his flesh was burning).  He didn’t even have to say anything to me.  He just looked at me.  It reminds me of the stories of Jesus.  How he didn’t have to say anything, just the look on his face told you everything.  He just looked at me.  Since he had been that example to me from such an early age, it really hit home with me.  I was just sad.  I couldn’t believe I did such a horrible thing.  How could I hurt him on purpose when he didn’t do anything. Sad to say, but I am pretty sure he still has a scar, forever reminding us both of my evilness.  Sorry Linc (I don’t know if I ever even told him sorry, I was so sad and remorseful).

As it stands now, Linc is that same person, displaying the same great qualities he displayed at a very early age.  He is so very hard working.  Too hard working in fact.  To parallel that, he is extremely giving in both his talents and his time.   He would do anything for anyone, including the devil I believe.  He just can’t say no.  He is incredibly gifted as a photographer.  He is a brilliant man.  I don’t believe many know this, but he does have his commercial helicopter license. More complicated than it seems.  On top of all of this he has an amazing family.  He and Bre mesh just right to make the most beautiful children.  I absolutely love spending as much time as I can with them when I visit Utah.  Linc is just fun to hang out with.  Like I mentioned before, we just get a long well.  His kids are so vibrant and full of life.  Breana is an exceptional mother that gives every moment she breathes to those boys.  They in themselves are one reason I would consider moving back to Utah at some point.  As I mentioned above, Linc is an amazing photographer.  It has become one of my favorite pastimes to visit his website everyday and view his incredible work.  The ones of my nephews are obviously my favorite.   Check them out for yourself with the Link below.  Breana also has a blogspot that keeps me well versed on the happenings of the Palmer clan.  I always look forward to spending time with Lincoln and his family.  I appreciate the silent leader he has been in my life and look forward to many more good times to come.
